Next Generation – Contemporary American Photography

At Pasinger Fabrik as well as at the America House you can find art works of 12 young photographic artists from the US. The invited photo and video artists are characterized by new drafts, topics and techniques.
Their works do reflect the work of coining idols (like for example William Egglestion or Cindy Sherman) and traditions, however, they extend and modify them at the same time.
The „Next Generation“ stands for an explicit subjective attitude in the contemporary photography and expresses this in the dissociation of idols, in capturing impulses and in the search for means of expression. Besides radical personal subjects there are abstract studies; figurative things are to be found as well as narrative photo galleries, the capturing of new video technology is formative, but also the material photo becomes a topic.
